Breast MRI
Breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is considered the most sensitive imaging test for detecting breast cancer, particularly in women with dense breast tissue or at high risk. MRI can "see through" density to detect small cancers that mammograms may otherwise miss. MRI is used alongside, rather than instead of, traditional mammography. MRI uses magnets and contrast dye to create detailed images of the breasts. This non-invasive exam is painless and does not use X-rays or ionizing radiation.
